About me

Most of you are following my blog because we are Facebook friends but for those of you know don’t know me… here goes!

My name is Greg Mountenay.  I am a 23 year old Queen’s University and Trent University alumni.  I have a Bachelor of Arts in French from Trent and a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University.  I grew up in the little town of Almonte, Ontario.  I was as a child and still am an avid curler.  Coincidentally  I still curl with the same broom I bought as a child…. The Hammer.   I really enjoy camping and hiking, especially in Algonquin Park.

I have always dreamed of going on a Roadtrip across Canada.  But I wanted to do it a little differently; this summer, I thought I’d try to make that dream a reality, but with the goal of trying to see as many of my Facebook friends as I could along the way.  This summer I thought I’d try and make that dream a reality.  In conversations with Canadian Tire, I was surprised to find out that they would be willing to support my Great Canadian Adventure.  So here I am, going on the adventure of a lifetime!

It was great to get together with you again Greg, here in Victoria. Thanks for all the good stories. Drive safely on your cross country adventure.

    Hi Greg,
I am a member of the Rotary Club of Peterborough Kawartha. Our current President Wendy Swain, saw the article on you in the Peterborough Examiner, and asked our Program committee to see if you might be able to speak to our Club on a date that you might be in Peterborough?

Our Club meets on Thursday mornings at 7:00am, breakfast starting at 7:20, and you would have the opportunity to speak to us on your great adventure across Canada.

Could you let us know if you would be interested, by contacting Brian O’Toole at brian.otoole@scotiabank.com
He would know what dates are open, and if possible, you could arrange to come and fill us in on the details and what you found out from your Journey.

I look forward to meeting you in the near future.

    Yours in Rotary

    Morgan Smith
